About
I believe that the principles of good cleanroom operations are relatively straight forward and should be accessible to all users. Our aim is to act as your in house cleanroom expert, working hard behind the scenes to take the heat out of your cleanroom management.
— Toni HorsfieldSpecialists in Cleanroom Design, Construction & Contamination Control
At ISO Cleanroom, we design, build and validate high-performance cleanrooms and controlled environments across the UK.
We are cleanroom design and construction specialists, delivering ISO-classified cleanrooms for pharmaceutical, life science, advanced manufacturing, nanotechnology, engineering and R&D facilities.
From initial cleanroom concept and feasibility through to construction, commissioning and validation, our integrated team ensures your contamination control project runs smoothly, safely and efficiently.
Our mission is simple: to deliver technically robust cleanroom environments that perform exactly as specified — on time and on budget.
Cleanroom Expertise Built on Scientific Heritage
Toni Horsfield – Director & CEO
ISO Cleanroom is led by Toni Horsfield, whose background spans a family history in silicone chips, vacuum science and thin film technology and her commercial design.
Her grandfather, Don Whitehead, founded VSW in the 1960s, later sold to VG Scientific. Her father, Jon Whitehead, established Moorfield Nanotechnology, a manufacturer of PVD, CVD, etch and anneal systems, acquired by Judges Scientific in 2019.
Toni qualified as a designer in 1999 and ran a successful commercial design practice before returning to the scientific and clean technology sector in 2011. In 2014, she formed Clean Environments, scaling the division successfully through two acquisitions before founding ISO Cleanroom in 2020.
Today, she specialises in:
- ISO 14644 cleanroom design
- Contamination control strategy
- Cleanroom layouts for start-ups and R&D
- GMP-aligned cleanroom environments
- Modular and bespoke cleanroom solutions
Her approach combines scientific rigour with practical construction delivery, a rare combination in the cleanroom sector.
Anthony Horsfield – Director, Construction & Delivery
Anthony Horsfield is a qualified Building Surveyor and leads our cleanroom construction and build division.
As former Development Director for the Timpson Group for 24 years, he contributed to 780% business growth through strategic property development and construction leadership.
At ISO Cleanroom, Anthony ensures:
- Safe cleanroom construction
- Programme and cost control
- Principal contractor compliance
- CDM adherence
- Quality installation standards
His structured construction expertise ensures our cleanroom facilities are delivered efficiently and in full regulatory compliance.
Working as a couple has its challenges but we find the benefits of two people clearly lead by the same goal out weighs the late night board meetings!
— Toni HorsfieldIntegrated Cleanroom Team
Our multidisciplinary team combines design, validation, filtration, mechanical engineering and on-site project management to deliver fully compliant controlled environments.
Amaleed Elturkie – Designer & CTCB-I Validation Engineer
Amaleed provides cleanroom design and validation expertise, ensuring facilities meet ISO classification standards and performance criteria. Her CTCB-I accreditation strengthens our contamination control capability across commissioning and performance verification.
Amaleed has been a great addition to the business and has been working alongside me for nearly 10 years: she is far more qualified than me having two degrees to my one! Amaleed’s architecture and design background is perfect for the work we do now, designing, building and validating cleanrooms. She has a very methodical and analytical mind. In general, I put together the top-level design which Amaleed then uses to produce detailed drawings for any new cleanroom builds. This inevitably leads to discussion on the best way to achieve various aspects – it’s an iterative process which gives a uniquely strong outcome. When we are testing and certifying cleanrooms, we generally work as a team: we find this particularly beneficial – many validation projects really require two people, and we have the same ethics and standards, and our skills are very complementary
— Toni HorsfieldEvery job is different – our clients may have similar objectives, but their products and processes vary widely, which is why every cleanroom we design and build is unique.
— Amaleed ElturkieAdam Simcock – Cleanroom Project Delivery
With a background in the Royal Engineers, Adam brings disciplined project management, site coordination and clear communication to every cleanroom installation. His structured approach ensures smooth programme delivery and strong contractor coordination.
David Scott – Filtration & Mechanical Engineering
David contributes specialist expertise in cleanroom filtration systems, HVAC integration and mechanical performance. His experience in the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers underpins his methodical approach to contamination control infrastructure.
Denice Mayes – Operations & Client Support
Denice ensures efficient coordination across design, procurement, construction and validation phases. Clear communication and responsiveness are central to the ISO Cleanroom client experience.
Industry Recognition & Cleanroom Leadership
Cleanroom Technology Awards 2026
We are delighted to be joining the judging panel for the Cleanroom Technology Awards 2026. These awards recognise excellence across the full cleanroom lifecycle, from facility design and construction, to contamination control, environmental monitoring, validation, consumables and specialist services. I’m looking forward to reviewing entries that demonstrate robust science, technical innovation and measurable performance improvements across controlled environments.

Cleanroom Technology Conference 2026
Toni Horsfield will chair Day 1 of the UK’s leading cleanroom conference, bringing together experts in cleanroom design, contamination control and controlled environment technology.
Contamination and control network
The UK cleanroom society CCN is the society for cleanroom, clean air and containment professionals providing a network for knowledge and development through training and education. We are very proud that our CEO Toni Horsfield has been asked to sit on the Contamination and Control Network committee.
The CCN is the key cleanroom society of the UK but also has members all over the world. The qualifications offered by the network are accredited by the CTCB-I and you can find information on those offered here.
North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce Business Award
In 2022 ISO Cleanroom won the prestigious Start-Up Business of the year award at the North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce Awards, selected from over 100 entries and judged by representatives including AstraZeneca and Citation.
It was a fantastic accolade and acknowledgment of the hard work the whole team had put in during our first years of trading.
— Anthony Horsfield - ISO Cleanroom
Toni Horsfield wins Alderley Park Pre-Accelerator Workshop, 2022.
Toni took a fledgling cleanroom design idea focused on start ups and R&D as the customer democratic. It impressed the judges by its customer focus and inception due to a well researched market need. The design is still in development and we are working with Marks & Clerk LLP to secure a patent on the design.
I am so excited to bring this product to market. It is going to help so many people. This is an important part to the future of ISO Cleanroom.
— Toni HorsfieldOur Cleanroom Values
Our values underpin every cleanroom project we deliver.
Contamination Control Excellence
We remain at the forefront of cleanroom standards, ISO classification updates and industry best practice.
Technical Knowledge
We invest in continuous training, formal qualifications and industry conferences to strengthen our cleanroom expertise.
We always try to get to at least one meeting a year, and in the last 12 months we attended both the Lab Innovations Conference and the Cleanroom Technology Conference held in October last year and this June respectively.
— Amaleed ElturkieWe are a professional resource for our clients – and we need to be able to respond to all of their questions and find solutions for their particular project. When we begin, it’s like having a jigsaw without the box – and it’s up to Amaleed and I to work out and guide them on what the picture should be.
— Toni HorsfieldQuality & Compliance
Robust quality systems, documentation control and validation procedures are central to our contamination control approach.
